Although food is one of the most important things that you need to think about as early as possible, you must first decide on a theme for the event so that everything else can be planned accordingly. Whether you have kids attending the event or not, a circus-themed party is a way to make things really fun. Don't forget apple or pecan pie for dessert. As far as entertainment goes, you should consider a lasso competition and a game of poker. If the party goes into the late evening, you may want to consider having a campfire to sit around and sing songs or tell stories.
Planning a private party or event can be very intimidating and stressful. You are going to have a lot on your plate. Therefore, you may want to consider allowing a catering service take over the food and beverage portion of the party. You can opt to have waiters and waitresses stay at the party to help serve or just have them set up the food and come back later to pick up their equipment.
